Do you want to learn to make a pair of pants that fit?  Denver ASG is offering a one-day workshop to help with this!  During this workshop, you can be pin-fitted in a pants pattern, and then use that pattern to cut out your pants in muslin.  Once you baste your muslin together, the pants fit can be refined.

If you want to be fitted, these are the supplies you will need to bring:
McCalls pattern 6901 – pants pattern – all sizes included*
Scotch tape – green box – ½” wide (not ¾” wide, which is more common – the ½” size
can be found at office supply stores or ordered online but is rarely found at
Walmart or Target)
Pins                                                     Scissors
Tape measure                                      Elastic, the length of your waist plus about 6”
Markers or colored pencils for           3-5 yards of muslin
marking your pattern (red, blue, green)
Sewing machine and basic sewing notions so that you can baste a muslin together
                                    A sense of humor!

Please wear tights or tight leggings that won’t interfere with fitting.  This is a very “hands-on” class and you will be poked and prodded and turned around as the fitting proceeds!

*Determine your size by measuring your hip.  This should be about 7-9” below your waist and should be the widest part of your hips.  Cut the pants pattern to your size based on your hip measurement.  We will be using the front, back and front pocket piece, so cut those out along the cut line and have them ready to work on in class.  If you’re not comfortable with knowing exactly what size to cut, please at least cut out the front, back and front pocket piece, leaving a margin around the cut.  We can finalize your sizing when you arrive, but having the pattern cut out helps speed the process along.

Bring a sack lunch and drink, if desired. There are fast food restaurants in driving distance, and there is a deli inside O’Meara Ford.

You must register if you want to be pin-fitted, because there will be a limit to the number of fittings that can be accomplished.  Register by emailing jan.mcminn@comcast.net. This is a free seminar.  Feel free to join us and work on other projects if you wish!
